The surf camp that is the most fun in Costa Rica cannot be without the best food
in Costa Rica. Serving what Fodor's calls "truly astonishing vegetarian food that
even a carnivore could love," Café de la Suerte puts on unforgettable breakfast and
lunch fare. Every week, our guests tell us "this is the best granola I've ever had."
Put that on top of a bowl of mango, banana, pineapple, papaya and add a little homemade
yogurt and some honey and you have a perfect way to start the day. Or, maybe you prefer
eggs any style or a stack of banana pancakes with fruit and berry spread plus a variety
of fresh squeezed or blended juices and smoothies. Don't feel guilty, you'll need the calories
for surfing!
Lunches at the Café de la Suerte could be their famous broccoli quiche with scalloped
potatoes and green salad, lasagna with garlic bread, Asian style shiitake mushroom,
veggie and noodle stir-fry, quesadillas with guacamole, homemade hummus with freshly
baked pita pockets, or a variety of sandwiches. Breakfasts and lunches are served to
order a la carte at unbelievable "hungry surfer sized portions" or family style all you can eat!
If you are a carnivore, don't worry. Dinners out to our favorite local restaurants
offer slabs of seared yellow fin tuna, filet mignon delicately sliced in an Italian
red wine sauce, Brazilian style jerked filet mignon and chicken breast skewers, fish
burritos as big as your head, or pollo en salsa Costa Rican style.
If you're a veggie there are always even better, veggie options… homemade gnocchi sorrentina,
Costa Rican patacones, veggie antipasto, beautiful crisp salads, picadillo and much more.
We are oh so very serious about good food.
To add cocktails to this culinary adventure, if it tickles your fancy, bring a few bucks with you to
dinner for a cold, Costa Rican lager, a bottle of Chilean wine, top shelf margaritas or the best pina colada ever made!
Please let us know ahead of time if you have any food alergies to help us best accommodate your needs.
